Funeral services for Beverly Fisher, 83, of Chamberlain will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 7, 2026 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Chamberlain with burial in the Riverview Cemetery at Chamberlain. Visitation will be one hour prior to services.
Beverly Ann Fisher was born on October 28, 1942, in Sutherland, Iowa, to Herbert and Leona (Smith) Meyer. She spent her early childhood in Marcus, Iowa, where many of her first friendships and fondest memories were made. When the family later moved to her grandparents’ farm in Granville, Bev embraced the change with the same quiet resilience that would shape her life. From there, she continued her schooling in Paulina, Iowa, riding the bus each day and carrying with her the simple joys of growing up in small town Iowa.
Bev worked hard throughout her life and held a variety of jobs that reflected her strong work ethic and her ability to connect with people. She worked at Casey’s in Iowa before moving to Chamberlain, where she managed an arcade, did housekeeping at Mid-Dakota/Sanford Hospital, worked on a farm milking cows, worked at Al’s Oasis, the North Park C Store, and delivered newspapers on several routes.
Bev found joy in the simple pleasures that filled her days. She loved crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, Scrabble, and creating picture albums of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She had a passion for antiquing and delighted in collecting owls, cardinals, bears, round puzzles, Christmas Barbies, Mad Magazines, and cookie jars. Christmas-themed treasures were always her favorite.
Bev passed away on March 4, 2026, at Sanford Care Center in Chamberlain, South Dakota, at the age of 83.
Grateful for the gift of her life are her children: Steve Schuller (Jodee Lantz), Sandy (Bill) Byre, and Carey (Mark) Lanners; her grandchildren: Josh, Justin, Reva, Rachael, Lucas, Jacob, Kami, Oliva, Kristen, and Nicolette; fifteen great grandchildren; and her siblings: Norma Schemmel, Linda Phillips, and Gary (Mary) Meyer.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers Darrell (Julie) Meyer and Ken “Butch” Meyer; and her brother in law, Marvin Schemmel.
