Obituary – Daniel L. “BamBam” Wendt

Daniel L. “BamBam” Wendt, 73, of Eldon, Missouri passed away Thursday, March 12, 2026 at his residence near Eldon, Missouri. He was born July 13, 1952 in Cherokee, Iowa the son of William John and Helen Dorothy (Umhoefer) Wendt. On January 26, 1996 in Little Falls, Minnesota he was united in marriage to Michele (Webery) Wendt who survives of the home.
Other survivors include, Step-Son Justin Brooks (Jessica) of Jefferson City, M, Granddaughter, Blair Brooks, Brother, Al Wendt (Marilyn) of LeMars, IA, Brothers-in-law, Mike Webery (Kim); Matt Webery (Tabby), Sister-in-law, Mendy Wieberg
Nephews & Nieces, Adam Wendt (Shelly); Michael Wendt; Jamie Rothschadl (Josh) along with several other nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews
His father, William John Wendt, and brother Paul Wendt preceded him in death.
“BamBam” was a career truck driver retiring as owner/operator of Wendt Trucking. He was also a crafted gunsmith by trade and owned/operated Guns and Roses Gunsmithing. He was known for his laugh and larger than life personality. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and shooting competitions. In later years he learned to fly and restored a World War II era plane and had a deep passion for history. His greatest love came from spending time and making memories with his family, especially his granddaughter.
Graveside Services will be Friday, March 20, 2026 at 11:30 AM at Dooley Cemetery near Eldon, MO.
Memorials in his name are suggested to Ninth Street Christian Church Youth Group of Eldon, MO, Ridgeview Mennonite Church of Barnett, MO or Hospice Compassus.
