MMCRU Boys Golf Competes in Districts

The MMCRU boys went on the road to the Newell Golf Course for the first round of tournament play and it was a little different than others. MMCRU placed 7th in districts and that meant it was their last meet of the year.
The lowest scoring team was Newell-Fonda with a score of 332, then coming in second was Remsen St. Mary’s with a score of 340. Then there was a tie for third place with Akron-Westfield and Gehlen Catholic with a score of 354. Then the last two teams were River Valley with a score of 364 and Storm Lake St. Marys with a score of 371.
The lowest score for MMCRU was Cade Pepper with a score of 87. Coming in second was Caden Sand with the score of 92
Coach Mark Schuttler commented on the meet with, “All the teams at the sectional golf meet were evenly matched except for Newell- Fonda. I thought going into it we had a chance to advance, but the team did not play to their potential.”
