Haunted House One Night Only

by Mari Radtke
The Frangione family of Marcus, Iowa annually turn a garage into a haunted house. The admission is free and the fright changes every year. This year’s fright night is Thursday, October 31. The haunted house opens at 5:00pm and will stay open until the crowds are gone. All ages are welcome, but be warned – the gruesome cast of ghostly frights could leave a visitor with nightmares!
The Frangione family begins working on the layout and the displays in September. The haunted house “floor plan” is new every year. So are the characters and frights and themes. One special guest this year is Crouchy Junior. Family members fill slots of some characters. It’s noisy. It’s spooky. And this year is dark. No lights. Just one small, dim flashlight for your group. Beware of what might be lurking behind you!
Joe Frangione grew up hosting a haunted house every year. The tradition continues with Joe’s young family, but according to Mom, “He’s taking it to a whole new level.” Everyone is invited to the Frangione Haunted House, open Halloween only. Enjoy the sights and frights. It’s a great for addition to “Trick-or-Treat” and a fun adult activity as well. Costumes welcome.
The Haunted House is located at 509 E. Spruce, Marcus.
