Wind Beats Up the MMCRU Golfers
By Victoria Rojas
On Monday April 12, the MMCRU boys’ golf team went to Hinton to take on the Blackhawks in a duel golf meet. The weather was not the greatest; the wind was over twenty miles an hour and it was in the mid forties. Hinton took the team competition over the Royals with the score of 193-210.
To prove how tough the conditions were, hole number four at the Hinton golf course was proof of the challenge with nine double digit scores. Coming in third for MMCRU was Caden Sand with the score of 48. Close to Sand was Brennan Rolfes with the score of 52. The rest of the MMCRU golf team did not finish as well as those two on the tough windy conditions in Hinton.
Player Brennan Rolfes commented on the meet with, “Conditions were terrible, but our attitudes were always great.”
Coach Mark Schuttler commented on the meet with, “I think the conditions got in the kids’ heads a little and they made some swings that they don’t normally make because of the bad weather.”
