The MMCRU Royals boys’ track team travelled to Holstein on Monday, April 12. Teams participating in the meet were RidgeView coming in at first place with 162 points, second place with 141 points was MMCRU, placing third place with 122 points was West Monona, taking fourth place was Alta-Aurelia with 95 points, in fifth place with five points was River Valley, and taking sixth place with a total of six points was Storm Lake St. Marys.
The boys had a terrific night with numerous gold medal performances including the distance medley team of Keegan Stevens, Eban Hicks, Kamden Steffen, Brett Staab with a time of 4:12.49 and Brayden Dirks in the 3200 Meter Run with a time of 11:25.02.
I asked sprinter Keegan Stevens his thoughts about the meet. Keegan stated, “Monday’s meet was tough with the weather, but our boys fought adversity and finished strong with second overall against some top tier teams.”
