Royals Travel to Face Tigers

The season opener on the diamond for the MMCRU Royals was held at Hull and took on the Trinity Christian Tigers. The Royals started the game with a run and held that score through 3 innings before bringing home another runner. The Royals held their hosts scoreless through two. The Royals fell behind in the third by a run.
And just like that, the game was knotted at 2 runs each. The top of the seventh saw the Royals take a 4-2 lead. The Royals’ defense held their opponents to notch a season opener win.
Junior Gage Johnson led the Royals’ hitting with a .500 going 2 for 2. He scored twice and addd another with an RBI.
Senior Michael Peterson was on the mound on May 27 for the entire game. He sent 10 hopefuls back to the dugout disappointed.
