Obituary – Lucille Jean Busse
Lucille Jean Busse, 90, of Marcus, Iowa, passed away on Friday, October 18, 2024, at Bavarian Meadows Assisted Living in Remsen, Iowa. A Celebration of Life Service will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at the Earnest – Johnson Funeral Home in Marcus. Rev. Dr. Travis Stevick of Grace Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will follow at Marcus Amherst Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Lucille Jean Busse was born on March 20, 1934, in Ocheyedan, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph and LeVerna (Buchholz) Muilenburg. She graduated from Hartley High School. On October 3, 1954, Lucille and Lloyd Lewis Busse were united in marriage at Worthington, Minnesota. They made their first home on the family farm. Lucille helped her husband at their meat locker in Royal, Iowa.
When the family moved to Milford, Iowa, Lucille took a position at Aalfs Manufacturing in Spencer, Iowa. They later moved to Marcus, Iowa in 1972. Lucille continued her career in clothing manufacturing at K-Products in Marcus. In her spare time, Lucille participated in a card club, collected dolls and enjoyed flower gardening.
She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Deb Staab of Remsen, IA; grandchildren, Donny (Becky) Staab, Adam (Kim) Staab and Christopher (Christine) Staab all of Remsen, IA, Chad (Cheryl) Staab of West Fargo, ND, Jesse (Jackie) Staab of Remsen, IA and Damon (Jessica) Busse of Cherokee, IA; 16 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandsons; a brother, Clifford (Susan) Muilenburg of Donna, TX; along with nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Lloyd; son, Terry; a son-in-law, Wendel Staab; and two sisters and their husbands, Betty and Max Wetherell and Mavis and Duane Richards.
