Annual Swanson Reunion Held
Descendants of Andrew Magnus and Christine Jacobson Swanson met Saturday, August 17, 2024, for their annual reunion. Thirty-five family members representing Opal Swanson Ducommun, Wallace Swanson, Gladys Swanson Johnson, Melvin Swanson, Lloyd Swanson, Bernard Swanson and Myrtle Swanson Miller met at the Pizza Ranch in Marcus. Prior to the meal, family members gathered at the Amherst Cemetery in Marcus for a walk about reviewing family history. Following a time of reminiscing, reviewing family history and updating the family tree, family members went to the Plymouth County Museum, Le Mars, to see the Russell Swanson Wind King and Moz-All mower exhibits followed by ice cream at the Wells Blue Bunny Ice Cream Parlor. The next Swanson Reunion will be held Saturday, August 16, 2025.
