The Tuesday night game at Marcus facing the Sioux Central Rebels was a crowning end to the baseball regular season. MMCRU held their opponents scoreless while putting 10 runs on the board. The Royals opened a 2-run lead in the bottom of the first. It was a quiet game until the bottom of the 5th when the Royals added another pair of runs. Through the 6th, held the Rebels scoreless. The Royals had a big 6th inning getting 6 runners around the diamond. Apparently the 5-run rule had the Royals to a score of 9.
The Rebels went through three pitchers. They started with senior short stop Konnor McKeever throught the opening 2.1 innings. He walked 7 out of 15 batters in that time. Junior Peyton Otto threw .1 innings. The Rebel loss went to sophomore pitcher Boden Bright. Bright pitched 5.2 innings facing 32 batters. Bright struck out 3 batters and hit walked 3, while hitting 1. Pitcher stats allowing runs doesn’t work with the box scores.
