The Royals stayed within a run through the 4th inning. Trinity put 3 points on the board in the 2nd inning. The Royals stayed close at the top of the 3rd scoring 2. The host team had a big bottom of the 5th bringing home 4 runners. The Royals fought for a rally in the 7th putting another run on the board but couldn’t keep the rally going. The Royals bowed, 3-7 at Hull.
Maesa Cleveringa pitched for Trinity all 6 of their outfield innings and earned the win. She faced 32 Royals’ batters. She allowed 5 hits and 3 runs with 4 strikeouts.
The Royals fielded a pair of pitchers in the game. Senior Kaleigh Gravenish opened on the mound for the first inning. Junior Isabelle Richardson finished the duty. Richardson faced 26 batters. She allowed 9 hits that they converted to 7 runs. She marked 2 K’s while Gravenish marked 1. The Royals pitching staff gave up no freebies on Tuesday. Errors were the enemy that night.
