The Royals were guests at the Mustangs house in George on Monday June 24. The Royals dominated like royalty taking out their hosts in 5 innings.
Sophomore Parker Glassmaker threw for an inning before giving up the mound to Sophomore pitcher Eli Schlenger, who finished the game. Schlenger was awarded the win. Schlenger allowed 3 hits and walked 2. While Glassmaker sent 1 to the dugout Schlenger retired 5.
Royals’ hitters faced Senior pitchers Micah Jumbeck and Drew Denekas. Jumbeck, normally a short stop, threw 3.2 innings. He allowed 4 hits, 4 runs and gave away 3 bases. He fanned 6. In Denekas’ 1.1 innings he allowed 3 hits and 2 more runs with 3 freebies and 2 Ks.
Royals’ hitters were Gage Johnson, 1 hit and an RBI with 2 runs of his own and K. Glassmaker scored twice from 2 hits, both doubles and included an RBI.
Mitchell Schnepf brought home 2 runners on base from his only hit out of 3 attempts. He poked a home run! Schlenger poked a double bringing a runner home.
Lucas Braun, Michael Peterson, Xander Tentinger, Eli Harpenau and Brandon Dreckman each rounded the bases for a score.
