Halloween Hike
The Cherokee County Conservation Board (CCCB) is hosting a Halloween Hike on Saturday, October 14th at Silver Sioux Recreation Area. The night will be filled with activities for everyone from 5:30pm7:30pm.
The evening will begin with trick-or-treating in the campground at 5:30pm. The CCCB is hoping to fill the park on this crisp October evening by offering free camping on Saturday to those willing to handout candy to the little princesses, ghouls, and monsters.
When you’re done collecting candy, head over to the Barn for pumpkin decorating! Pumpkins are limited and are first-come, first-serve. There will also be fall-themed games. Activities in the Barn will take place from 5:30pm-7:30pm.
Bring your “A” game this year because we’re partnering with the Sanford Museum this year to provide Pumpkin Atlatls!
Campsite decorating is encouraged! In fact, we’ll be giving out a prize to the best decorated campsite. Special judges will choose the best campsite. Winner will be contacted at 7:30pm and be awarded a weekend stay at the Silver Sioux Lodge. Campsites are first-come, first-serve.
