Cherokee County 4-Hers bring home high honors from Iowa State Fair
Three Cherokee County 4-H members brought home top honors from the Iowa State Fair.
“We’re very proud of all of our 4-H and FFA members who compete at the state level,” said Debbie Erpelding, Cherokee County Youth Coordinator with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach. “Youth put in a great deal of time and effort, and it is wonderful to see them recognized for their passions.”
Erpelding shared that the following champions came from Cherokee County:
- Grand Champion 4-H Purebred Simmental Heifer, exhibited by Branden Whited
- Grand Champion 4-H Commercial Ewe, exhibited by Brittney Schmillen
- Reserve Grand Champion 4-H Market Goat, exhibited by Brittney Schmillen
- Reserve Grand Champion 4-H Market Lamb, exhibited by Sam Schmillen
