Personal Mention
I am going to begin my column by going back two weeks. I would like to apologize to the lady who called from #229-xxx-xxxx that I was very rude to. She had no idea that I had had an accident so how was she to have known she called at the wrong time?
I had spent over an hour sitting on the side of the bed before I finally decided to over look the pain the pain I would have just to go a short distance to the bathroom. Once there it took me another half hour to get back to the bedroom. Just as I was attempting to back into bed, the phone rang. I shouldn’t have picked up and then this wouldn’t have happened. The lady was very nice and said something about if I could help her find something I had talked about. I answered that I couldn’t and thanked her for calling and hung up. She had no idea why I answered her the way I did. I hope she will accept my apology and call again; leave a message; and someone will later
It was back to the doctor again who asked how I was getting along as he pulled on my fingers on the fractured arm. I could have screamed louder than I did. How did he think I was doing with an arm in a sling of sorts and the other wrist where only two fingers could be used? If only the pain in the fractured arm would lesson up just a little so the pain pill would work the entire time it is supposed to.
Cousin Jeneen from Rocky Ford, Colorado was coming to visit. Sharon Johnson and sister, Linda and her two grandchildren (from Wisconsin) well as Kevin Jorgensen from Galva came for supper on Friday night. Zachary and Bethany did the cooking! Jeneen didn’t need any kittens as an expectant neighbor’s cat found Jeneen’s place and had 5 kittens! Of course no one is going to claim the cat! I told Jeneen, “Welcome to the world!” I just cannot believe a home not having a pet. When I was growing up, we all had a pet to love and care for. However, we didn’t have cell phones and games that took up our time.
Remember in your thoughts and prayers those families/friends that have lost loved ones to death; have had their lives changed, have health problems some of which are terminal; are still struggling to make ends meet even though they have a job; and help those who desire “wants” are more important than “needs” that prestige isn’t everything and be with those who are still trying to shorten the distance between family/friends to build a bridge instead of a wall. Count your blessings!
Also remember Steven Schuetz in your thoughts and prayers as he has hernia surgery on Tuesday July 18, 2023. Steven does have to stay overnight as well. I hope he has a fast recovery and that this is resolved. Thank you also to all of those that have wished me well in my recovery as well. I will leave you with this quote from musician Willie Nelson, “Once you replace negative thought with positive ones, you’ll start having positive results”.
