MMCR CSD Board of Directors Meeting
The Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn Community School District Board of Directors met in regular joint session on Monday, May 15, 2023, at 6:30 pm at the Remsen Union Media Center, Remsen, IA along with the Remsen-Union Community School District Board of Directors. Board members present: Laura Staab, Karla Prunty, Danae Dreckman, Luke Olson, and Belinda Leavitt.
I. CALL TO ORDER
Laura Staab called the meeting to order at 6:34pm.
II. APPROVAL OF AGENDA
Karla Prunty moved to approve the agenda with changes of moving item I to the first item of business, and tabling the bills until further information is presented. Danae Dreckman seconded.

Morrie Marks spoke as a concerned community member regarding the locations of athletic events.

I. WRESTLING AT MMCRU
Karla Prunty moved to approve the separation from the Cherokee CSD wrestling program and begin an MMCRU Junior High sponsored wrestling program beginning with the 23-24 school year. Luke Olson seconded.

Karla Prunty moved to approve the addition of an assistant bowling coach position. Danae Dreckman seconded.

B. LOCAL GOV’T RISK POOL RENEWAL
Danae Dreckman moved to renew the Local Government Risk Pool insurance policy for natural gas. Luke Olson seconded.

Luke Olson moved to approve the resignations of Emily Pederson- Paraprofessional, and Ben Aberson- Archery Coach, and the hiring of Natasha Young- Assistant Volleyball Coach, and Mariah Wurth- Head Dance Coach.
D. DRIVERS ED CONTRACTS
Karla Prunty moved to approve the driver’s education contracts for Alex Wimmer and Rockie Bork. Luke Olson seconded.

Karla Prunty moved to approve the list of the graduating class of 2023, so long as everyone on the list meets the requirements. Belinda Leavitt seconded.

Danae Dreckman moved to approve Jen Nieuwenhuis, Dawn Roberts, and Heather Youde as 2023 Summer School Teachers. Angeleah Roling and Brenda Bird as the 2023 Extended School Year Teachers. Becky Geerdes, Amanda Harnack, and Rose Reimert as the 2023 Extended School Year Paraprofessionals. Belinda Leavitt seconded.
