MMCRU Archery
During an interview with Coach Duncan, we asked her a few questions about the Archery team. A few questions were asked about what were her team’s goals and challenges the archery team has faced through the season. Coach Duncan mentioned, “For all archers to shoot their personal best and to increase our team score.”
Coach Duncan wished for better shooting, less bad habits, and a more committed effort in practice. She is starting to see more determination and the drive for higher scores, from some of the archers. Another challenge they faced was the archery team had fewer archers this year and the Coach was nervous when they first started competing and the archers scores were low. “But, the archers have shown promising scores so I know we will be able to compete with other teams.” The team’s biggest challenge is losing good archers, and seeing some archers not climbing in score. One of the top archers moved away and another graduated early. This puts more pressure on lower grade level archers to step up and fill those shoes. Some of the best scores in the season are,Brayden Olson a third year archer, and he shot a 289/300; and Emma Vasher is a fourth year archer, who shot a 277/300. The archery meet is February 3 at Marcus at 3:30 and February 4 at Siouxland Christian.
