The War Eagle Conference came together at the Ridge Golf Club in Sioux Center for the annual WEC golf meet. The boys participated on Monday, with the girl’s meet taking place on Tuesday. 11 schools were in attendance for the boys, and 10 for the girls.
The boys team was led by Sophomore Brayden Olsen, who earned a 1st team All-Conference spot with a 44 and a 47 nine-hole score, combining for a 91 on the 18. Senior Preston Astidias had a great day as well. He earned a 2nd team All-Conference with a 46 and a 51, combining for a total score of 97. Noah Galles and Haven Holllingshed both shot 99. Bryce Tentinger shot a 102, and Owen Schroeder shot a 108. The team shot a total score of 386, and placed 7th overall. Akron-Westfield won the meet with a 351.
The girls team placed 9th in the tournament, scoring a 466. Junior Avery Schlenger shot a team high 106. Junior Isabelle Olson shot a 113. Sidney Krier shot 121. The total team score was 466. Remsen St. Mary’s won the meet with a 400. They were led by Senior Sidney Tritz who shot a meet low score of 85.
