This week for the senior spotlight we will be featuring Alissah Poppema. Alissah lives in Akron, Iowa. Her family includes Dad: Mike, Mom: Tasha, Stepmom: Katy, Stepdad: Mike, siblings/step siblings: Tori, Trevor, Tyler, Kallie, Austin, Amaiah, Tommy, and Elaina. Throughout high school, Alissah has been involved in archery. Her favorite memories from high school include Homecoming, and Gnimocemoh. Outside of school Alissah likes to watch her boyfriend race, and she plans to start racing with him next year. Her greatest accomplishment throughout high school has been giving blood.
Some jobs Alissah has had throughout high school include working at The Golden Pheasant, Hyvee, Easy Clean Car Wash, and 4 Brothers. Her favorite year of high school was sophomore year, because it was cut short due to Covid. Some advice Alissah would like to give to the underclassmen is to do your homework, and you will pass. Allisah’s favorite school lunch is the chicken wrap. Some of her biggest pet peeves include poking, or when people ask the same question over and over. Her favorite musician is Papa Roach, and her favorite songs are Gravity, Gremlins, and Papa Roach. One of Alissah’s biggest fears is the fear of heights. Something Alissah would like to accomplish in her life is to become a professional photographer, or an archery coach. Alissah would like to be remembered as the girl who didn’t care what others thought.
