We Will Miss Both of You!
By Elaine Rassel
Monday (May 17) a farewell party was given for two of the MMCRU employees who had been working for the MMC School for many years. We won’t hear, “MMCRU, this is Caryn.” and the kids that have ridden a yellow bus with Clark as their driver, will miss him.
Caryn Barry started in Cleghorn in 1998. When Cleghorn school closed in 2015, she came to Marcus and at first went to the Elementary building. Vickie Rainboth, decided in 2017 that she was going to retire from answering the phone (plus many other duties!). Caryn took over Vickie’s place until the end of school year 2021.
Clark Rainboth has been driving a school bus for 30 years! Times have changed. Even though farms have gotten bigger, hired men weren’t needed. As the years went by, the number of kids on his bus got less. When the town kids were able to be picked up, now the number of riders went up!
It was a nice retirement party for them. We could leave a note for Caryn and tables were covered with pictures that the kids that rode on Clark’s bus had made for him. One of the pictures said, “You have the cleanest bus!” Of course all the pictures expressed that they would miss Clark.
We will all miss both of you. May you enjoy your retirement!
