Justin Pritts, Environmental Health Coordinator, presented a proposed ordinance for tanning bed facilities. The supervisors advised Pritts to confer with the County Attorney about drafting a summary of the ordinance to be published.
The supervisors provided committee reports and reviewed meeting schedules.
Lundquist called for comments from the public. Sarah Tracy, County Engineer, voiced concerns about the proposed RAGBRAI route that would include a short gravel road segment from the Meriden city limits traveling west on 500th Street to L51. Justin Pritts, Emergency Management Coordinator, pointed out difficulties of getting emergency ambulance response from Cherokee Regional Medical Center to the City of Marcus if RAGBRAI is using Highway 3 and C38 as bicycle routes. Pritts and Tracy will be communicating with RAGBRAI officials and the DOT to address their concerns. Stu Hogg, IT Director, gave an update on new audio/video conferencing equipment currently being installed in the courtroom that is funded by the state court system. Kolby DeWitt, Regional Director for Senator Ernst, and Bob Henderson, Interim Regional Director for Senator Grassley, reported on both Senator’s priorities of reaching out to local elected officials and answered questions related to current legislation.
There being no further business, Chairman Lundquist adjourned the meeting at 9:48 a.m.
All board agendas and minutes are available online at www.cherokeecountyiowa.gov .
