Cherokee County Board of Supervisors Special Meeting
The Cherokee County Board of Supervisors met in special session on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 with Rick Mongan, Bryan Petersen, Duane Mummert, Cheryl Ellis and Dave Skou present. Erin Rydgren, Chronicle Times, and Madeline Combs, Storm Lake Times, represented the press. Zoning Commission Board Members and Board of Adjustments Members were also in attendance. Unless otherwise indicated, all votes were offered as follows: Ayes – Ellis, Skou, Mummert, Petersen, Mongan; Nayes – none; Abstentions – none.
Chairman Mongan called the meeting to order at 10:30 a.m. and led the Pledge of Allegiance.
Motion by Mummert, seconded by Ellis to approve the agenda. Motion carried.
Sarah Tracy, Zoning Administrator, moderated the informational meeting pertaining to solar energy.
Tracy invited speakers from TED Renewables; Center for Infrastructure & Economic Development; MidAmerican Energy; Invenergy and Next Era Energy.
There being no business to consider, Chairman Mongan called for a motion to adjourn the informational meeting.
Motion by Skou, seconded by Ellis to adjourn the meeting at 11:50 a.m.
