Life with My Wife
Thursday (April 20) Roger Stoner was at the Marcus Public Library. Stoner, an author, has written five books: The Spirit Lake Massacre, Horse Woman’s Child, Praise for Boone’s Woman, An Unfortunate War: The Sioux Uprising of 1862, and Life with My Wife. On Thursday night he was going to give his audience more than one laugh as he was going to tell us all about what it has been like living with “his wife!”
Some of what he was talking about, I can say I put my husband through! I guess wives don’t think about if “hubby” is happy with what she has him doing that to her is nothing out of the ordinary!
I am not going to tell in detail (as he did) about his presentation as then there would be no reason to read the book. He began with how he had met her, their early marriage (no, they did not have to get married!) and then some of the things that his wife has “put” him through!
Summary of his presentation was on how she always seemed to know ahead of time something that was going to happen and warning him of this; how the television programs in his household seemed to be to her liking; trips to go shopping with her and all the things that happen when she took her time.
How about when he went to fix the toilet, thought it was fixed only to find in the middle of the night that it wasn’t fixed?! Can you imagine any man being happy about a diet his wife thinks is good for him?! Can any two people be on the same page when it comes to planting a garden? Even though tax time is over, he told about when they couldn’t find the necessary items to get their taxes ready until the very last minute. (That has happened in may households, I am sure!)
If you missed this presentation, you missed out on an hour or so of some things you might have been guilty of in your past as well as having many laughs! The Marcus Public Library has “Life with My Wife”—check it out and find out more of Stoner’s life with his wife!
