A few weeks ago, the 8th graders at MMCRU Middle School were given a writing prompt: “Who is your hero?” In Miss Seuntjens’ English class, students wrote about people who have made a tremendous impact on their lives. They told jokes, shared memories, and honored their heroes through writing. Recently, Miss Seuntjens offered the idea of hosting a Heroes’ Day Celebration, and eleven students volunteered to participate. Students invited their heroes and families to hear them speak at the event. During this event, students gave their speeches as well as provided their heroes with a Heroes’ Day Award. There were many tears, many laughs, and many memories made. It was a great day to be a Royal.
This event was held March 30 in the MMCRU-Remsen auditorium.
