MMC CSD Board of Directors Meeting
The Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn Community School District Board of Directors met in regular joint session on Monday, March 21, 2022, at 6:30 pm at the MMCRU Media Center along with the Remsen-Union Community School District Board of Directors. Board members present: Karla Prunty, Danae Dreckman, Laura Staab, Belinda Leavitt, and Luke Olson.
I.CALL TO ORDER
Karla Prunty called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm

Danae Dreckman moved to approve the agenda. Laura Staab seconded.

B. LOCAL GOV’T RISK POOL RENEWAL
Luke Olson moved to renew the Local Government Risk Pool Agreement. Danae Dreckman seconded.

C. RATIFY CERTIFIED ASSOCIATION AGREEMENTS
Laura Staab moved to ratify the Certified Association Agreement with the base salary increase of $2000.00 and returning teachers with an increase of $2500.00.

D. LICENSED AND COACHING CONTRACTS
Laura Staab moved to approve the licensed and coaching contracts. Belinda Leavitt seconded.

E. CLASSIFIED WORK ASSIGNMENTS

F. SET FY23 BUDGET HEARING DATE AND FY22 BUDGET AMENDMENT HEARING DATE
Luke Olson moved to set the FY23 Budget Hearing and FY22 Budget Amendment hearing date as Monday, April 11, 2022 at 7:00 am. Laura Staab seconded.

G. RESOLUTION TO LEVY FOR FY23 BUDGET
Danae Dreckman moved that the Board of Directors of Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn Community School District, will levy property taxes for fiscal year 2022-2023 for the regular program budget adjustment as allowed under section 257.14, Code of Iowa. Laura Staab seconded.

H. STAFF RESIGNATION/HIRES
Belinda Leavitt moved to approve the resignations of Ashley Brady – Success Coach, Beth McDermott-Ebert – Teacher, and the hires of Megan Loutsch – Teacher, Melissa Lansink – Teacher, Brenda Bird – Teacher. Danae Dreckman seconded.

No action was taken as this was a Remsen-Union item.
J. FY23 PRE-LEVY RESOLUTION
Belinda Leavitt introduced the following Resolution: RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF NOT TO EXCEED $8,000,000 GENERAL OBLIGATION SCHOOL BONDS, SERIES 2022A; AND NOT TO EXCEED $2,100,000 TAXABLE GENERAL OBLIGATION SCHOOL BONDS, SERIES 2022B, AND LEVYING A TAX FOR THE PAYMENT THEREOF. Luke Olson seconded The Roll was called Prunty AYE, Staab AYE, Dreckman AYE, Olson AYE, Leavitt AYE.
Motion Carried.

Luke Olson moved to deny the open enrollment request. Laura Staab seconded.
