Kortney Johnson

By Brayden Dirks
This week for the senior spotlight we will be showcasing Kortney Johnson. Kortney lives near Pierson with her parents Ed and Jennie. She has three sisters: Jenna, Jaci, and Kendra, and has one brother, Evan. Next year, Kortney plans on going to college for either kinesiology or early childhood development.
Kortney has been a great student throughout high school, as she has been on the High Honor Roll every year and has maintained great grades. She says her greatest accomplishment was making the High Honor Roll, along with passing Algebra class. Her favorite year of high school has been senior year because it has been the most rewarding, and because high school is almost over.
Outside of school, Kortney is very busy with three jobs. She has babysat and been a nanny throughout high school. Along with that, she works part-time at Heartland Care Center in Marcus. Kortney also helps her dad with hog chores and harvest. Her favorite things to do outside of school are: hang out with friends and family, boating, snowmobiling, going to the mountains, being at Okoboji, and camping. Her favorite music artist is Morgan Wallen, and her biggest pet peeve is hypocrites. Kortney’s biggest fear is getting lost while snowmobiling and doing other activities. Her biggest piece of advice to underclassmen is to care about your grades, and to put effort towards making them good. When she’s older, Kortney hopes to be rich and happy with a great job and family.
