Senior Spotlight

By Brayden Dirks
This week for the senior spotlight we will be featuring Gunnar Grage. Gunnar lives in Remsen with his mom and dad, Jackie and Jason Grage, along with his siblings, Mason and Taya.
Gunnar has been very involved throughout high school, as he’s participated in cross country for four years, CYO, SkillsUSA all years, FFA all years, and has been the basketball and baseball manager every year. He lettered junior and senior year in cross country, along with receiving All-Conference honors in his junior season. In SkillsUSA, he’s held an officer position every year as he was parliamentarian his freshman year and treasurer sophomore and junior years. In FFA, Gunnar was treasurer for two years and vice president for one year. He says his greatest accomplishment from high school was getting All-Conference in cross country. His favorite memory was being on homecoming court senior year, and his favorite year of high school has been senior year because of homecoming and the classes.
Outside of school, Gunnar enjoys hanging out with friends and family. He works on the family farm, and is also employed at Beer City in Remsen, where he has worked for several years. His favorite school lunch is crispitos and his pet peeve is when people walk slowly. Gunnar’s biggest advice to underclassmen is to turn in your work on time, and to get involved. He wants to be remembered as a hard worker who is determined. He says what he wants to accomplish to is live a memorable life with success.
