Wolverines vs Hawks
“The Wolverines had a tough night at Remsen to face the Remsen St. Mary’s Hawks on Thursday October 16. “We didn’t play well enough to win. Set one was ok, but still needed to step up our game. That wasn’t even the best we’ve played and we won 25-16,” said Head Coach Amy Schmidt. Schmidt describes the remaining 3 sets this way, “The last three sets something happened that we couldn’t fix. RSM is very scrappy and that scrappiness is what won that match for them. We were not. We had some really good moments but didn’t play solid all around. Our blocking, which is usually a positive, struggled at times with even getting a decent touch. We also struggled a bit with our passing. I knew that this would happen at some point but I was hoping that it wasn’t going to affect us this badly. Right now, we have to give RSM credit as they just outplayed us tonight. We need to refocus on the three or four matches prior to tonight and go back to what made us successful, playing the fundamentals well together. When we do that, good things happen.”
