The Cherokee County Board of Supervisors met in regular session on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 with Bryan Petersen, Dave Skou and Ray Mullins II present. Cheryl Ellis and Shane Bellefy were unable to be in attendance. There were no representatives from the press. Tony Puffett, Tyler Hahn, Maria Schueder, Matt Todd, Kelly Puhrmann and Jodi Mongan were also in attendance. Unless otherwise indicated, all votes were offered as follows: Ayes – Mullins, Skou, Petersen; Nayes – none; Abstentions – none.
Chairman Petersen called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. and led the Pledge of Allegiance.
Motion by Mullins, seconded by Skou to approve the agenda. Motion carried.
Motion by Skou, seconded by Mullins to approve the minutes of the previous meeting. Motion carried.

Matt Todd, Weed Commissioner, presented an annual notice for destruction of noxious weeds on private property for the board’s review and consideration.
Motion by Mullins, seconded by Skou to approve Resolution #2026-05 “Notice for Destruction of Noxious Weeds”. Roll call vote: Mullins-aye, Skou-aye, Petersen-aye. Motion carried and resolution adopted.
Kelly Puhrmann, County Engineer, presented a grant funding document for consideration.
Motion by Skou, seconded by Mullins to approve Resolution #2026-06 “STBG Grant Application”. Roll call vote: Mullins-aye, Skou-aye, Petersen-aye. Motion carried and resolution adopted.
Derek Scott, Sheriff, postponed his agenda request until a later date.
Motion by Skou, seconded by Mullins to approve publication of the 2026/2027 Proposed Property Tax Levy Notice and set a hearing date on Tuesday, March 24 at 8:45 a.m. Motion carried.
Committee reports and meeting schedules were provided by each of the supervisors.
There being no further business, Chairman Petersen called for a motion to adjourn the meeting.
Motion by Mullins, seconded by Skou to adjourn the meeting at 9:45 a.m.
