MMCRU CSD Board of Directors Meeting
December 15, 2025
The Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn Community School District Board of Directors held an organizational meeting on Monday, December 15, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. in the RU Media Center, together with the Remsen-Union Community School District Board of Directors.
I. CALL TO ORDER Laura Staab called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.
II. ROLL CALL Present: Laura Staab, Dan Erickson, Belinda Leavitt, Kristi Letsche
Absent: Luke Olson
III. APPROVAL OF AGENDA
Belinda Leavitt moved to approve the agenda. Kristi Letsche seconded. Carried 4-0

ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING
I. CALL TO ORDER Bobbi Riedemann called the meeting to order at 5:44 p.m.

III. ADMINISTER OATH OF OFFICE TO NEW BOARD MEMBERS
The oath of office was administered to newly elected members Bill Sillau and Russ Godbersen by the board secretary.

Laura Staab moved to approve the agenda. Bill Sillau seconded. Carried 5-0
V. SEATING OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION
A. ELECTION OF PRESIDENT
The board secretary asked for nominations for board president. Dan Erickson nominated Laura Staab.
Bill Sillau moved to cease nominations and elect Laura Staab as board president. Russ Godbersen seconded. Roll call was taken:

B. ELECTION OF VICE-PRESIDENT
The board secretary asked for nominations for board vice-president. Kristi Letsche nominated Dan Erickson.
Bill Sillau moved to cease nominations and elect Dan Erickson as board vice-president. Russ Godbersen seconded. Roll call was taken:

C. ADMINISTER OATH OF OFFICE TO NEW BOARD OFFICERS
The oath of office was administered to Laura Staab, Board President, and Dan Erickson, Board Vice-President, by the board secretary.
D. ESTABLISH BOARD MEETING DATE/TIME/LOCATION Dan Erickson moved to approve policy 210.2, continuing board meetings on the 3rd Monday of the month at 6:30 p.m. April-October, 5:30 p.m. November-March, alternating between MMC and RU locations. Bill Sillau seconded. Carried 5-0

A. BUILDING COMMITTEE MEMBERS
Kristi Letsche moved to approve Bill Sillau and Russ Godbersen for the building committee. Dan Erickson seconded.

B. BOARD MEMBERS FOR BARGAINING Kristi Letsche moved to approve Laura Staab and Dan Erickson for the negotiations committee. Bill Sillau seconded.

C. APPOINTMENT OF BOARD REPRESENTATIVE TO CHEROKEE CO. CONFERENCE BOARD Dan Erickson moved to approve Kristi Letsche for the Cherokee Co. Conference Board. Russ Godbersen seconded.

D. MMCRU AT-RISK/DROPOUT PREVENTION PLAN/BUDGET
Bill Sillau moved to approve the Dropout Prevention and At-Risk Student Support Plan. Dan Erickson seconded.

E. MSA AT-RISK/DROPOUT PREVENTION RESOLUTION Kristi Letsche moved to authorize the district’s administration to submit a request to the School Budget Review Committee (SBRC) for a modified supplemental amount of $43,956.00 for at-risk/dropout prevention. Bill Sillau seconded.

F. POLICY REVISIONS: 600 SERIES (2ND Half) *2ND Reading Kristi Letsche moved to waive the 2nd reading and approve the revisions for policies 605.1 through 607.2R1. Russ Godbersen seconded.

G. INCLINED PLATFORM LIST This was an RU-only business item.
H. RESOLUTION TO THE SBRC FOR OPEN ENROLLMENT OUT Dan Erickson moved to authorize the district’s administration to submit a request to the School Budget Review Committee (SBRC) for a modified supplemental amount of $20,484.60 for open enrollment out and $75,886 for increase of certified enrollment from the prior year. Russ Godbersen seconded.
