2025 JUNIOR SWINE SHOW

HEALTH PAPERS REQUIRED
RULES AND REGULATIONS:
DIVISION I- 10 years of age or younger
1) The swine show is a non-terminal show. You may choose to leave your pig as a terminal entry.
2) NO ENTRY FEE
3) Each exhibitor may enter one animal in this show.
4) Weigh-in will be Thursday, August 7th from 3 PM – 8:00 PM – Health Papers are required
5) Show time will be Friday August 9th at 9:00AM.
6) Classes will be divided according to entry weight with no more than six (6) animals per class. Variations in class size may occur depending on the number of hogs that have been entered.
7) Only hogs weighing between 230 lbs to 310 lbs will be eligible for championship drive.
a) All pigs weighing less than 230 lbs and all pigs over 310 lbs will be shown in separate classes.
b) There will be NO re-weighs.
8) Pigs will go to slaughter on Monday morning. Owners do not need to be present for loading or transport of the pigs. The terminal pigs will be cared for by board members if you cannot care for your pig through the weekend.
9) Hogs will be paid on a grade and yield basis.
a) Pigs under or over packer weight requirements will be docked accordingly
10) Hogs are the property of the exhibitor until accepted at the packing plant.
11) Any hog not of acceptable quality at the time of the show will be bought subject to USDA inspection.
12) All exhibitors or their parents must be Pork Quality Assurance Level III Certified to allow their hogs to
be sold to the packing plant. Please make arrangements ahead of the Fair to have this completed.
13) All hogs must be identified by a USDA approved ear tag and must have TWO forms of official
identification.
2025 MARKET SWINE SHOW

5) Pens will be composed of three (3) pigs grade, purebred or crossbred. Pens may be three (3) barrows or gilts or both.
6) Each exhibitor will be permitted to show one pen of three (3) and two (2) individual pigs in the
Individual class. (Only three (3) market pigs total can be entered per exhibitor.
7) Pen of three (3) pigs has to all be entered as one individual exhibitor.
8) Market pigs will be judged according to the group system.
9) Both of the Champion Pen of Three and the Champion Individual will receive special ribbons.
10) No livestock sale will be held; your pig will be sold directly to SLAUGHTER.
11) Premium money will be paid from a fund provided by livestock fund contributors.
12) ALL exhibitors must have been through the Pork Quality Assurance Program.
13) All hogs must be identified by a USDA approved ear tag and must have TWO forms of official identification.
14) All non-terminal show pigs must be gone before 10:00 pm on Friday, August 8th.
2025 Beef Show

HEALTH PAPERS REQUIRED
RULES AND REGULATIONS:
1) Market beef will be divided into weight classes at the discretion of the Market Beef
Committee.
2) No livestock sale will be held. Premium money will be paid from a fund provided by
livestock fund contributors.
3) Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion ribbons will be awarded.
4) A first and second prize will be awarded for showmanship.
5) All entries will be judged and placed according to qualifications.
6) Weigh-in will be Thursday, August 9th, 2025 from 3 PM – 8 PM..
7) Show will start at 9 AM.
8) Exhibitors must furnish their own feed and equipment; a wash rack is provided.
9) Stalls must be kept clean and orderly at all times and exhibitors must show due courtesy to all
visitors.
10) Judging of the Market Beef will take place on Saturday August 9, 2025.
11) Exhibitor age limit is 19 years of age.
12) No blocking chutes allowed in the barn.
13) Market heifers will be shown and judged in separate classes from the Market Beef (males) and will
receive the same ribbons and premiums.
14) Breeding heifers will be received and judged.
15) Feeder calves are not to come onto the fairgrounds until Saturday morning
15) Feeder calf classes will be received and judged, male and female, in separate classes.

Open Bucket-Bottle Calf Show
Purpose: To design a cattle project to fit the physical and maturity level of younger youth and to provide a better understanding of the feeder calf industry.
RULES:
1) Project is open to all youth who have completed kindergarten through age 11 as of July 1, 2025.
2) Calves must be purchased and/or in possession of the youth within 2 weeks of birth. Open to any orphaned or newborn, steer or heifer, dairy or beef, purebred or crossbred calf calved in 2025. Intact males (bulls) may be shown.
3) Calf can be bucket or bottle fed.
4) Calves do not have to be tagged or entered before the fair.
5) All calves will be shown at halter and must be clean and groomed.
6) Calves will be brought to the fair the day of the show Saturday August 9, 2025 and return home the same day.
Beef Cow-Calf Show
RULES:
1) Any age cow with calf at side, shown on the halter.
2) Calf must be born after January 1, 2025

- Entry fees: $5.00/class. Entries will close 2 classes prior to class currently being shown, sign up early!
- Long Sleeve western shirts & cowboy hats are required in all classes except games
- Riders are eligible to ride in both western & ranch pleasure.
- Prizes and ribbons will be awarded for places 1-3.
- In timed events, riders can only ride twice in each event – on different horses.
- Dogs must be on a leash at all times.
- THE JUDGE’S DECISIONS ARE FINAL.

2025 Sheep Show

Sheep Show Registration and Weigh-In will be from 10am-12pm on Friday of the fair.
Registration will be located at the scale house on the south side of the fairgrounds. Lamb Show will begin at 1pm, or immediately following the swine show if it runs past 1pm. The goat show starts at 3pm, or immediately after the sheep show.
All standard 4-H and Marcus Fair Livestock rules apply. All lambs will be vet checked upon arrival. Any lamb showing signs of contagious disease will be unable to be shown. Disqualified lambs must be removed from the fairgrounds immediately.
There is no sale associated with this show. The lamb show is come and go with no penning space on the fairgrounds. There is a wash rack available to use. Please plan accordingly. There is no limit to the number of breeding lambs that may be exhibited but Exhibitors may only show 3 market lambs. Either ewes or wethers may be shown in the market classes, there is no weight limit. All breeding ewes must be identified with a scrapie ID tag.
ALL Classes will be divided by weight. There will be no declared weights. If you show your lamb in the breeding class you can NOT show the same lamb in a market class.
Ribbons will be awarded and Plaques will be awarded to the Champion and Reserve Champion goats and showmen/women.
Showmanship – 4H/FFA age groups apply – Junior, Intermediate, Senior

Marcus Fair Church Service
The Marcus fair church service on will be held on Sunday of the fair, August 10th at 10 am . Our speaker is Rocky Bork this year. All are welcome to join us at the fair grounds .
