Five Wrestlers from the Royals Wrestling Club in Marcus received top honors after competing at the AAU State Wrestling Tournaments in Waterloo and Cedar Rapids March 8th and 9th.  Cruz Daum battled his way to his 2nd State Championship in two years, earning 1st place in the 1st grade, 54-pound bracket.  The son of Jason and Cheri Daum was also the 50-pound. Kindergarten State Champion in 2024.  Dayleigh Ohrt received her first State Championship in the Kindergarten 65+ pound. bracket.  She is the daughter of Daniel and Karlee Ohrt. 
Other podium winners for the Royals include Pyper Pick, daughter of Justin and Stacy Pick, placing 3rd in the 3rd/4th grade 70-pound bracket, Quinn Godbersen, daughter of Russ and Sara Godbersen, placing 4th in the Kindergarten, 35-pound bracket and Colton Alesch, son of Marty and Jill Alesch, placing 8th in the 2nd grade 66-pound bracket. 
The Royals Wrestling Club is coached by Russ Godbersen, Jake Pearson and numerous volunteer parents.
