The MMCRU Royals scored nearly 5 times as many points as their guest, Harris-Lake Park Wolves in the opening quarter, 29-6. The Royals’ defense held the opponents to single digits 3 of the 4 quarters, allowing getting to 10 points only in the third. The Royals victory ended at 77-28.
Junior Brandon Dreckman led the Royals’ scoring with 16 points including two of four 3-point attempts. Also leading scorer Brayson Mulder hit four out of five free throws. Senior Lucas Braun added 10 to the Royals’ tally.
Ball control is essential. Mulder rebounded 4 and stole 4. Junior Kamden Bork also grabbed 4 boards and 4 steals while adding 2 blocked shots to his defense. Senior Michael Peterson, too, grabbed 4 boards. He blocked 2 shots and took 2 steals.
Scoring assists came from Junior Wyatt Alesch, 4; Braun, 3; and Senior Clint Staab, 3.
MMCRU hosted North Union following their defeat of HMS on Thursday evening.
