The MMCRU girls came close to picking up their first win of the season but South O’Brien was able to claim a narrow 57-54 victory. The War Eagle Conference Conference contest was played January 14 at Paullina.

South O’Brien was led by Reese Farquhar’s 17 points and 10 rebounds and the 16 points and seven boards from Lindsey Einck. The Wolverines’ 37 percent shooting was accomplished on 18 baskets in 49 attempts. South O’Brien was 6-of-22 from beyond the arc and 15-of 22 at the free throw line.
