Karleen Kay Singh (Klingborg) passed away peacefully on Friday, May 10, 2024, at her home in Mesa, Arizona, surrounded by her family. In accordance with her wishes, Karleen’s remains were donated to medical science research.
Karleen was born on July 1, 1938, in Le Mars, Iowa, to Carl and Marjorie (Addy) Klingborg. She graduated from Marcus High School in 1956 and attended the Ray Vogue Fashion Design School in Chicago, Illinois. It was during her time in Chicago that she met her significant other, Rajah Singh, with whom she had a daughter, Karla Rachel Singh.
Karleen’s studies in fashion design inspired a lifelong passion for creativity and artistry. She was an accomplished seamstress who crafted beautiful clothing and designs, including exquisite ballroom dance dresses that reflected her love for elegance and movement. Her flair for fashion and crafts was admired by all who knew her. She also had a love for music and dancing and was gifted with a lovely singing voice.Later in life, Karleen moved to Mesa, Arizona, to be near her brother and his family. She remained there until her passing, cherishing her time with loved ones and continuing to share her talents and vibrant spirit.
Karleen was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Marjorie Klingborg, and her beloved aunt, Lois Addy.
She is survived by her daughter, Karla Rachel Singh, and Karla’s partner, Courtney Muhammad; her brother, David Stanley Klingborg; her sister-in-law, Diane Klingborg; her niece, Laura Bruno, and Laura’s husband, Victor Bruno; her great-nephew, Ryan Miller; and her partner, Robert Wilson. Karleen’s warmth, creativity, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
