Grant Writing 101 Workshop offered in Cherokee on Sept. 12
The Iowa Department of Education, Bureau of Nutrition and Health Services, has finalized its policy for free and reduced price meals for students unable to pay the full price of meals served under the National School Lunch Program, School Breakfast Program, Specia Representatives of nonprofits, local government, schools and community volunteers are encouraged to register for Grant Writing 101. The workshop will be hosted at the Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Cherokee County office (209 Centennial Dr., Cherokee) from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 12. A light meal will be provided.
Grant Writing 101 is designed for those who are new to the world of grant writing or need a refresher. It will provide a thorough overview of the entire grant writing process, from finding appropriate grant opportunities to submitting successful grant applications.
There is no fee to register or attend the program thanks to the generous sponsorship of the Cherokee County Extension Council and Cherokee Area Economic Development. Participants can register online at https://go.iastate.edu/E0ATGM or by calling the ISU
Extension and Outreach Cherokee County office at 712-225-6196. The deadline to register is Sept. 10 at midnight. The program will be presented by Lindsay Henderson, ISU Extension and Outreach Community Development Specialist. She has extensive experience writing and reviewing grant applications and working with various federal, state, local and private foundation grant programs.
Henderson will assist workshop participants in exploring various public and private funding sources, and provide instruction and tips on planning projects and writing successful grant applications.
