Bluey Comes to the Marcus Public Library

by Dalles Carey
Children from near and far were buzzing with excitement as they eagerly awaited Bluey’s arrival at the Marcus Public Library. The anticipation in the air was electric. Since it first aired in 2018, the show has become a massive hit, capturing kids’ hearts with its playful humor and pulling at adults’ heartstrings with its emotional depth and nostalgic nods to childhood.
When Bluey entered the room, the joy was contagious. She spent a whole hour greeting everyone with happy waves, high fives, and lots of hugs and photos. While Bluey was definitely the star of the day, those waiting their turn had plenty of fun, too. They dove into activities inspired by the show, like Keepy-Uppy—an awesome game where you try to keep a balloon or ball in the air (if you haven’t tried it, I encourage you to; it’s a blast!). Kids also got to color their own Longdog, a sneaky character hidden in every Bluey episode, and boogied down in a game of Freeze Dance.
It wasn’t just the kids having fun; parents were right there, hitting balloons, coloring, and dancing along to the music. It was a day full of laughter and happy memories for everyone. Bluey’s visit to the Marcus Public Library was truly special, and I hope it’s a day your kiddos remember for a long time!
