Thrilling Loss to Central Lyon at Home

Central Lyon visited Marcus on Tuesday June 11. Central Lyon came out on top in an 8-7 down to the last pitch win over their MMCRU hosts.
Junior pitcher Xander Tentinger faced 36 batters in the seven innings. He started rough giving up 3 runs in the opening inning. Four batters could not connect with his throws.
The Royals sleepy 1-run start in the first lulled the guests into sleepiness. The Lions scored 1 more in the 2nd but did not score again until the 5th another in the 6th. MMCRU had a big 5th inning bringing home 4. Box scores at the end of 5 were 5-6 in favor of the visitors.
The 7th inning had the crowd on their feet. Both teams had a pair of runs in the 7th, but that was enough for West Lyon to claim a victory.
Sophomore Gage Johnson got 1 run from 4 at-bats. Sophomore Parker Glassmaker got 2 hits from his 4 at-bats and scoring twice. Senior Mithcell Schnepf put 3 balls into play from 4 at-bats, scoring 2 from his 2 singles and 1 double. Junior Mason Grage hit 3 of 4 and sophomore Michael Schmillen only single brought him home. Senior Owen Schroeder .500 brought in a 7th score for the heartbreaking loss. The Royals leave the game at 8-4 giving the Lions a 4-13 record.
