Register by Virtual Showing of Silage
Silage is a major feedstuff for Iowa cattle producers, and making sure it is harvested correctly is extremely important, according to Beth Doran, beef specialist with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach.
That is why enhancing silage success is the focus of this year’s 5th Biennial Silage for Beef Conference.
The Conference will be June 20 with two options to attend: a live virtual showing at the ISU Extension and Outreach Sioux County Office in Orange City or in-person at the Eastern Nebraska Research, Extension and Education Center at Ithaca, NE.
“Nationally recognized industry experts will discuss timing considerations when harvesting silage, quality fermentation, silage pile management, working with custom harvesters, and how to successfully use earlage and silage in cattle diets,” Doran said.
The conference is from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
“Knowing the busy schedule of farmers and ag professionals, participants may come and go to the virtual viewing in Orange City,” said Doran. “If the morning works for you, come for the morning. If the afternoon is better, come then. You don’t have to stay all day if the timing doesn’t work with your schedule.”
A full schedule for the program is available at https://www.extension.iastate.edu/sioux/.
There is no cost to attend but registration is required by June 7 to secure materials.
