Jam Making for Kids Workshop May 30 in Cherokee
Iowa State University Extension and Outreach will host a jam making workshop for kids in grades 4-12 on Thursday, May 30, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The workshop will be held at the St. Paul United Methodist Church in Cherokee.
Youth will learn safe methods for preserving jams and dehydrating foods and will get to take home a tasty sample of their work.
“This is a great workshop for 4-H members, or any youth interested in food science and cooking,” said Debbie Erpelding, Cherokee County Youth Coordinator with ISU Extension and Outreach. “It will be a fun morning of hands-on learning.”
Erpelding said that due to the hands-on nature of the workshop, space is limited to 12 participants and registration fee is $10 per youth.
To register for the workshop or ask questions, call Debbie at 712-225-6196.
