MMC CSD Board of Directors Meeting
The Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn Community School District Board of Directors met in regular joint session on Monday, April 15, 2024 at 6:30pm in the Remsen-Union Media Room, along with the Remsen-Union Community School District Board of Directors. Board members present: Laura Staab, Kristi Letsche, Luke Olson, Dan Erickson and Belinda Leavitt.
I. CALL TO ORDER
Laura Staab called the meeting to order at 6:30pm.
II. APPROVAL OF AGENDA
Dan Erickson moved to approve the agenda. Luke Olson seconded.

III. PUBLIC HEARING FOR RU FY25 BUDGET
There was no attendance for the public hearing.
IV.PUBLIC FORUM
Middle School nurse, Traci Miller presented public forum representing herself regarding wage compensation.

A2023-24 SCHOOL CALENDAR CHANGE
Belinda Leavitt moved to approve a school calendar change- the last day of school will be moved up to Friday, May 24, 2024 for students and paraprofessionals. The last day for teaching staff will be May 28, 2024. Luke Olson seconded

B. MMC: EMERGENCY RADIO/CAMERA ACCESS
Cherokee Sheriff Derek Scott, Marcus Police Officer Brian Flikeid, and 911 Coordinator Stuart Hogg shared information about the Emergency Radio System and how it works when triggered.
C. STAFF RESIGNATIONS/HIRES
Kristi Letsche moved to approve the resignations of Carla Weber- Paraprofessional, Courtney DeMey- Paraprofessional, Deb Mayer- Paraprofessional, and Janice Husman- Bus Route Driver. Also, the approval of hiring Alyssa Kenney- Paraprofessional. Luke Olson seconded.

D.SCHOOL FEES FOR 2024-2025
Kristi Letsche moved to not make any changes to the school fees for the 2024-2025 school year. Fees will remain the same as they are currently. Dan Erickson seconded.

E. FY25 BUDGET APPROVAL
Luke Olson moved to approve the proposed FY25 budget. Kristi Letsche seconded.

F. SET DATE FOR FY24 BUDGET AMENDMENT HEARING
Dan Erickson moved to hold an FY24 budget amendment hearing at the next regular board meeting that is scheduled for Monday, May 20, 2024 in Marcus. Luke Olson seconded.

G. MMC: HIGH SCHOOL BOWLING SHARING ARRANGEMENT
Kristi Letsche moved to approve dropping the shared arrangement with Cherokee High School for bowling, and to begin sharing with Gehlen Catholic High School going forward. Luke Olson seconded.
