MMC CSD Board of Directors Meeting
The Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn Community School District Board of Directors met in regular joint session on Monday, October 16, 2023, at 6:30pm in the Remsen-Union Media Center, Remsen, IA along with the Remsen-Union Community School District Board of Directors. Board members present: Laura Staab, Luke Olson, and Belinda Leavitt. Absent: Karla Prunty and Danae Dreckman.
I. CALL TO ORDER
Laura Staab called the meeting to order at 6:30pm.
II. APROVAL OF AGENDA
Belinda Leavitt moved to approve the agenda. Luke Olson seconded.

Danae Dreckman arrived at 6:31pm
III.PUBLIC FORUM
Robert Donlin presented questions to the board regarding the bussing of Oyens students to LeMars Community School.

Danae Dreckman moved to approve the minutes from the previous meeting. Belinda Leavitt seconded.

This was an RU item only. No action was taken.
B. STAFF RESIGNATIONS/HIRES
Belinda Leavitt moved to approve the hire of Chris Johnson as High School Assistant Baseball Coach. Luke Olson seconded.
C. REQUEST TO SBRC-ALLOWABLE GROWTH FOR SPECIAL ED DEFICIT
Danae Dreckman moved to approve the request to SBRC for $175,155.23 to make up for the deficit in the Special Education budget. Luke Olson seconded.

D. EARLY GRADUATION REQUESTS
Luke Olson moved to approve the early graduations requests for Taytem Pedersen, Olivia Flewelling, Leandra Klinker, Cody Simons, and Abram Bruns. Danae Dreckman seconded.

E. FLOOR SCRUBBER
Belinda Leavitt moved to approve the purchase or a new floor scrubber, with options to rent-to-own, or to purchase out right depending on the financial situation. Danae Dreckman seconded.

F. REQUIRED POLICIES FOR SCHOOL SAFETY GRANT
Luke Olson moved to approve the required policies for the school safety grant. Danae Dreckman seconded.
