The Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn Community School District Board of Directors met in special session on Friday September 1, 2023 at 6:oopm in the MMC Board Room, Marcus, IA. Board members present: Laura Staab, Karla Prunty, Luke Olson, Danae Dreckman. Absent: Belinda Leavitt.
I.CALL TO ORDER
Laura Staab called the meeting to order at 6:00pm.
II. BOARD SECRETARY
Laura Staab issued the oath of office to Chelsea Ruden, board secretary for her reinstatement of duties.
III. APPROVAL OF AGENDA
Luke Olson moved to approve the agenda. Karla Prunty seconded. Carried 4-0
IV. BUSINESS
A. MMC HIRES
Luke Olson moved to approve the hiring of Elaine Hageman, cook, and Derek Erdman, High School Assistant Wrestling Coach. Karla Prunty seconded.
Carried 4-0
Remsen Union approved the hiring of Joe Mohrhauser as business manager.
B. NEW ELEMENTARY SCHOOL SIGNAGE
The MMC board members agreed to go ahead with the originally proposed signage which reads, “MMCRU Marcus Elementary”. No changes were made, no action was taken.
V. ADJOURN
Danae moved to adjourn the meeting at 6:13pm. Luke Olson seconded.
