June Mildred Davis, the daughter of Ambrose and Elizabeth Flugel Heinis, was born December 22, 1920, in Morristown, Minnesota. Her childhood years were spent in Marcus where she received her early education and graduated from the Marcus High School.
June married Dale Burton Davis on February 25, 1945, in Marcus, Iowa. Following their marriage, they lived most of their life southwest of Peterson on Dale’s family farm until Dale retired and they moved to Sutherland. June worked at ALF Manufacturing where she did sewing, beating out her coworkers for quota to be the “Queen Bee.” Later she worked at Eaton Corporation in Spencer until her retirement.
June passed away on March 17, 2023, at the Heartland Care Center in Marcus, Iowa, at the age of 102 years young. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dale; son, Dennis; daughter, Karen; two brothers and four sisters.
She is survived by one sister, Dorthy “Toppy” Wetherell; daughter-in-law, Theresa Davis; son-in-law, Al Miller; five grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
