Staff Spotlight – Mrs. Peters

Ms. Peters grew up in Storm lake, IA. Her ideals are to help others, and help the youth grow into good citizens. She had attended Buena Vista University, where she majored in Secondary Mathematics Education.
She is currently teaching at MMCRU highschool in Marcus, where she teaches 9-12 Mathematics. She gives the advice,“Give your best effort in all you do; never quit, always finish something you start with your best! Own up to your actions and be respectful.¨ Her favorite daily activity is to build up relationships with her students and staff.
When she was in highschool she wished someone told her that life is going to be full of challenges and highschool is a way to teach you how to handle them. Highschool goes beyond assignments, quizzes, and tests, so open your brain and learn life from your teachers and staff. She takes this knowledge and makes sure her students know the problems they face later on in life will be hard, but they can get through it.
Currently, Mrs. Peters runs the Senior Sales activities on top of teaching math classes. Senior Sales at MMCRU started in 2019, but closed for a bit during covid. Senior Sales reopens the sales in August every year and try to sell through mid-May. Ms. Kelly stated, “Some students and I came up with this fundraiser to have healthier and cheaper snacks for students during the day; plus, it raises money for the senior trip and graduation expenses.” So, please support our seniors and choose healthier snack alternatives by making purchases through our Senior Sales.
