Marcus City Council Meeting
Regular Meeting of the City Council was held February 13, 2023, at 5:00 pm with Mayor Bunt presiding. Council members present: Ebert, Enneking, Schmillen, Jenness, Frangione. Also, present: Elaine Rassel, Zack Rassel, Doug Dreckman

5:00pm Motion by Ebert, seconded by Enneking to open public hearing, “Proposed Property Tax Levy”. Ayes: Ebert, Jenness, Enneking, Schmillen. Nayes: none. Motion carried.

Motion by Enneking, seconded by Schmillen to close public hearing. Ayes: Ebert, Jenness, Enneking, Schmillen. Nayes: none. Motion carried.
5:02 pm Frangione arrived.
Motion by Schmillen, seconded Jenness to approve Consent Agenda: City Council Minutes, Bills, Res #23-06, “Resolution Approving the Maximum Tax Dollars from Certain Levies for the City’s Proposed Fiscal Year 2024 Budget”, Resolution #23-07, “Transfer of Funds”, Res #23-08, “Setting Time and Place for the Purpose of Soliciting Written and Oral Comments on the City’s Proposed Fiscal Year 2024 Budget”, Application for Tax Abatement Under the Marcus Urban Revitalization Plan for Dennis Brady, ADI Architecture for the Clubhouse, The Old Panhead Restaurant & Lounge, Inc. Retail Alcohol License. Ayes: Ebert, Jenness, Enneking, Schmillen, Frangione. Nayes: none. Motion carried.
Doug Dreckman reported public works is working to get the ice off the streets. Public Works has started the DNR Lead Service Line Inspection in homes to determine what type of pipe is coming into the home. This is a DNR requirement this should take about a month.
Chief Flikeid gave an arrest update and let the Council know that City Attorney Herbold is working on getting a 28E Agreement ready for the Death Investigator.
Mayor Bunt announced the CAEDC Community Coffee to be held at the Marcus Fire Station on February 25, 2023 with State Senator Kevin Alons, State Representative Ken Carlson, Members of the Board of Supervisors, CAEDC Board Members. The Audit was reviewed. A geographic survey needs to be complete for the new Clubhouse before the ground thaws, a bid was given to the Council for asphalting the alley behind the Community Center and the Golf Course driveway.
