Reminder to Register to Vote
The Voter Pre-Registration deadline for the November General Election is Monday, October 24, 2022. The Cherokee County Auditor and Commissioner of Elections encourages new residents of the county to register by downloading a voter registration form or register online through the Iowa DOT. Official Voter Registration and Absentee Request forms may be obtained on the county website at cherokeecounty.iowa.gov . Voters can also stop at the Auditor’s Office to complete a registration form at the Cherokee County Courthouse – 520 West Main – Cherokee, IA.
If voters have moved within the county, it is advised that a new voter registration form be completed in order to update their voting address. All residents in the State of Iowa must vote in the precinct in which they live on Election Day. Any new voter registrations received after October 24th will require a current photo ID and proof of residency.
