Royals JV Football
This past week the Royals JV football team played against South O’Brien in Marcus, Royals won 30-14. We have gone in and interviewed Clint Staab, Mason Hill, and Ben Tentinger.
Clint Staab thought the team did great overall, they played really good defense. Everyone on the team did their job and they came prepared. Clint thought personally he played well, his blocking was really good, but he needs some improvement on his tackling. Clint’s biggest asset to the team is his blocking and receiving skills. Clint hopes the team can improve on their discipline, the team got a lot of penalties last Monday.
Next we interviewed Mason Hill, Mason plays the defensive end. Mason played well for the team, but for his own expectations he wished he did better. Mason is going to try to improve on his tackling skills for the next game. Mason would like to increase his number of tackles he got last game by at least five. To be a good football player it takes a lot of team work and effort, in season and outside of the season. One of Mason’s accompaniments if attending all the weight rooms this summer. Weight room is in the mornings, three days a week, during the summer, for football players to attend. When you put in the extra work it shows on the field.
The last football player we interviewed was Ben Tentinger, he plays defensive end and right tackle. On Monday night Ben played pretty well for himself, he had some good skills to offer the team. He had four TFLs and a sack. Ben is hoping to win out of JV by the end of the season. Ben is a devoted football player to his team because he attends meetings, practice, weights, team building, activities and more.
All together the team did really well on Monday. The boys are working well together and they have fun both on and off the field.
