The date was Thursday, April 28 and the time was 7 p.m. when the MMCRU High School music students were ready to show the audience their musical talent!
The MMCRU Choir took to the risers with their first song, “Sing Jubilate Deo” which led to their second song, “Kyrie”. Their third song, “O Clap Your Hands” made sure everyone was still awake! They concluded with “Shut De Do”.
The MMCRU 9-12 Choir was directed by Ms. Breana De Vos with Kay Krekow accompanying them on the piano.

The following Choir Students are: Isabella Ahlers%, Hannah Neddermeyer%; Jordyn Holsinger; Ashley Hurtado%; Ethan Johnson; Jacob Johnson; Regan Konz; Brielle Myears%; Rylee Neddermeyer; Caitlin Olson%; Ryan Olson; Andrea Penning%; McCartney Pierce; Emily Rains; Anthony (AJ) Russell; Hope Russell%; Autumn Sanow%; Perla Solano; Zoey Turner; Caitlin Wetter%; Jaxon Woodall; and Mykin Youde%.
The MMCRU 9-12 Band members were ready to perform. Their first arrangement “Nathan Hale Trilogy” was divided into three parts: I. “Intrada”, II. “Intermezzo” and III. was “Finale”. The percussion section was busy on the conclusion of this song!
You couldn’t help but feel like marching with their second song, “Alpine March”! They concluded their performance with a slower song, “In These Last Days of Autumn”, with Max Stridde leaving his percussion place and also, at one point, playing the piano. Ms. Emma Davis is the Band Director.

Band Students were Ellie Hilbrands (Flute); Makenzie Meyer (Flute); Caitlin Olson% (Flute); Hannah Doellinger% (Flute); Allison Astidias% (Flute); Ashley Hurtado (Flute) and Caitlin Wetter% (Flute/Vibraphone).
Clarinet players were: Regan Peters%; Ellie Reuter%; Jordyn Holsinger; Leandra Klinker%; Michelle Schmidt; and Ellie Durkee.
Mattie Dias% (Saxophone); Jaelyn Kabisch% (Saxophone) and Elsie Hogg% (Saxophone). Josh Armfield (Trumpet); Hope Russell (Trumpet); and Evan Molzen (Trumpet). Alex Armfield (Trombone); and Brett Staab (Baritone).
Percussionists were Eban Hicks; Ryan Olson (Bass Guitar/Percussion); Jaidyn Ballard; Olivia Flewelling, Ethan Johnson; Carver Miller; AJ Russell; and Max Stridde (Percussion/Piano).
Now it was time to present these talented musicians with awards for their accomplishments for the year. The Choir Students were first and were proud to come forward to receive their awards. The Band Students concluded the night of talents when they came forward to receive their awards they had accomplished. Mattie Dias was given the John Philip Sousa Award this year!
There were two students, both in choir and playing their “drums” that couldn’t have been prouder when they were called up front to receive their award_Ethan Johnson and AJ Russell. These two students really love being in Choir and Band!
Choir Seniors are Ryan Olson and Emily Rains. Band Seniors area Mattisen Dias, Eban Hicks, Ellie Hilbrands, Mackenzie Meyer, Ryan Olson, Regan Peters, Ellie Reuter, and Brett Staab. We thank these Seniors for all their hard work and dedication! May they take their musical talent to wherever they are going after graduation.
Upcoming events include the Large Group contest on May 6 at Le Mars High School and the Middle School Spring Concert on May 17 at Remsen.
