MMC Revenue Purpose Statement 2022
On March 1, 2022, the voters of the Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn Community School District will have an opportunity to vote to renew our Revenue Purpose Statement (RPS) for the district.
THIS VOTE DOES NOT INCREASE THE SALES TAX YOU ARE ALREADY PAYING OR INCREASE PROPERTY TAXES. This is a sales tax everyone already pays in the state of Iowa. The RPS allows the Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn CSD (MMC) to use the money allocated and generated by the number of MMC students, from the statewide penny tax for schools. The reason MMC is holding this election is because our current RPS expires in 2029, and MMC is seeking to extend their RPS to 2049 so the funds can be utilized by the district. Currently the funds are used to maintain buildings, purchase buses, building improvements and technology purchases without affecting property tax rates.
Polls will be open from 7:00 am – 8:00 pm on Tuesday, March 1. A reminder that all MMC residents will vote at the Sawyer Center. If you have any questions, please contact the MMC district office at 376-4171
Voting Location: Sawyer Center
